HP XPInfo V28.00.00 Release Notes

HP XPInfo does not display the beginning 3 in the serial number of an XP7 disk array. Only
the five digit serial number is displayed.
HP XPInfo supports the display of nickname for LDEVs on XP and XP7 arrays, however this
feature is not supported on OpenVMS operating systems
HP XPInfo supports UDEV on Linux platform.
NOTE: The location of UDEV devices location must be specified in the /dev directory.
The names for UDEV devices must begin with an sd.
If a migrated volume has more than one active hardware path, HP XPInfo displays the array
type depending on how the multipathing software selects the hardware path. Use the xpinfo
-V command to get more details of the migrated volume.
xpinfo -D command does not work on an OpenVMS Integrity Server (IA-64) host.
On an OpenVMS Integrity Server (IA-84) host, HP XPInfo does not provide the data for: Alpa,
Loop Id, FC-LUN, Port WWN, Target, and LUN Id
On an OpenVMS Integrity Server (IA-64) host, HP XPInfo does not provide the data collected
through RMLIB for: Pool Id, Total Pool Capacity, Used Pool Capacity, RAID type information,
RAID level, and Disk mechanics.
If you are using HP XP7 Performance Advisor Solaris, AIX or HP-UX host agent, view the SLPR
and CLPR information for your XP disk arrays through HP XP7 Performance Advisor, as HP
XPInfo for these host agents displays random CLPR and SLPR values.
To view the SLPR and CLPR values through HP XP7 Performance Advisor:
1. On the HP XP7 Performance Advisor Home page, click Array View in the left pane.
2. Click the + sign for Arrays.
3. From the list of XP and XP7 disk arrays that are monitored by XP7 Perf Advisor, click the
+ sign for the XP and the XP7 disk array, for which you want to view the related SLPR
and CLPR data.
4. Select LDEV from the list displayed.
5. On the Array View LDEV screen, select the Column Settings check box.
6. In the LDEV Column Settings list, select the check box for SLPR and CLPR.
7. In the LDEV table, click the LDEV ID column heading and provide the cu:ldev ID for which
you want to view the SLPR and CLPR data.
8. Click OK.
The corresponding SLPR and CLPR data for the cu:ldev ID is displayed under the respective
column headings (SLPR and CLPR) in the LDEV table.
NOTE: The SLPR value is displayed as "--" for P9000 and later disk arrays.
When an LDEV is visible from more than one array port, HP XPInfo randomly displays an
array port for each execution of HP XPInfo.
For example, if LDEV 02:11 is configured such that it is visible from both CL2A and CL2C
array ports, HP XPInfo displays this LDEV from either of the two configured ports for each
execution on HP XPInfo.
To use HP XPInfo in OpenVMS Integrity Server (IA-64) platform, define an identifier as follows:
xpinfo :== $[XPINFO_PATH]xpinfo.exe.
xpinfo is the identifier and [XPINFO_PATH] points to the location where the HP XPInfo software
is installed.
Example: xpinfo :==
$SYS$SYSDEVICE:[VMS$COMMON.HEWLETTPACKARD.XP7HOSTSW.HOSTAGENT.SBIN]xpinfo.exe
