HP XP7 Performance Advisor v6.1 Software Troubleshooting and FAQs Guide
The last collection time stamp get updated based on the performance data collection frequency
set for each individual resource. Since the frequency set for DKC is 5 minutes, it appears first. The
last collection time stamp for port data collection gets updated only after 10 minutes duration.
Why did the Windows GUID on my management station change after I rebooted the management
station?
When the management station is rebooted, the command device configured as the Windows GUID
automatically stops collecting data, as it is no longer considered as the GUID that can interact with
HP XP7 Performance Advisor. In such a case, configure another command device as the GUID or
recreate the same command device that previously changed, and configure it as the GUID. The
Event Log and the PerformanceAdvisor.log contain similar messages as follows:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PerformanceAdvisor: ERROR: Can't attach to command device: \\.\PHYSICALDRIVE65
One of the following may be the reasons:
*The device with GUID is formatted using Windows
*The command device switch is turned off accidentally
*Host cannot access the command device (Either security settings in the array allow the host to see the command
device or the SAN connectivity is lost)
In HP XP7 Performance Advisor, if the data collection interval is set to 5 minutes, will the data point
received be the average value in 5 minutes or just the value at the point of time, such as the 10:00?
All the values in HP XP7 Performance Advisor that do not require any calculation are values in
point of time, such as the maximum and minium values. The average value will be over a collection
period.
HP XP7 Performance Advisor real-time charting
NOTE: The real-time charting feature is available in HP XP7 Performance Advisor from v4.5
onwards. Therefore, the following FAQs are not applicable to HP XP7 Performance Advisor versions
prior to v4.5.
How is HP XP7 Performance Advisor real time charting different from HP XPWatch?

maximum of five RAID groups or LDEVs in an XP or an XP7
disk array.
I need to monitor response time for a particular RAID group over a shorter duration. Can I collect
performance data for less than 60 seconds using HP XP7 Performance Advisor?
No. The minimum duration for collecting performance data using HP XP7 Performance Advisor is
at least one minute. To view data for less than a minute duration, use HP XPWatch or the real-time
charting feature in HP XP7 Performance Advisor.
Can I view real-time performance graphs for multiple XP and XP7 disk arrays simultaneously?
