HP XP7 Performance Advisor v6.1 Software Troubleshooting and FAQs Guide

Why does ? appear for an XP or an XP7 disk array in the XP/XP7 Array Health section on the
Dashboard screen, though the threshold values are set?
The ? icon appears in the XP/XP7 Array Health section if performance data collection is not
happening for an XP or XP7 disk array.
Can I set the threshold values for LDEVs on the Threshold Settings screen?
No. Threshold values cannot be set for LDEVs. Instead, you can set threshold values only for the
ports, cache, RAID groups, and DKC resources.
The frontend, cache, and backend categories on the Dashboard screen are showing the X icon
for the XP7 disk array. Does it indicate that the XP7 disk array is not optimally utilized?
Not necessarily. It just indicates that the resources in your XP7 disk array have crossed the threshold
limits that you set for them on the Threshold Settings screen.
There is no activity in my XP7 disk array. However, the categories show the X icon. What does it
indicate?
This can occur in cases where the threshold is set to very low non zero values (for example, 1 for
IOPS or 1MBPS). Ensure that you set appropriate values on the Threshold Settings screen to view
the accurate health of your XP7 disk array.
What does -1 indicate for the Frontend, Backend, Cache, or MP Blade (applicable only for XP7
disk arrays) category on the Threshold Settings screen?
If -1 is displayed for the Frontend, Backend, Cache, or MP Blade category, it means that the
performance threshold values are not yet configured for the XP or the XP7 disk arrays. In such
cases, the usage summary is also disabled on the Dashboard screen.
NOTE: The following FAQs are on enhancements or new features introduced in Array Dashboard
from v4.5 onwards.
Why are LDEV records not displayed in the LDEV Information table on the Dashboard screen?

that you will have specified on the Threshold Settings screen. The ascending or descending order
is decided based on an LDEV’s average read and write response times.
What does the dashboard high watermark indicate?
The high water mark is an indication of the maximum average usage value of that resource in the
past 24 hours. High watermark is displayed after considering the usage data of a resource in the
last 24 hours for a selected metric.
NOTE: The dashboard high watermark is available on the Dashboard screen from HP XP7
Performance Advisor v4.5 onwards.
Why is the dashboard high watermark not displayed in the performance graphs that I plotted on
the Dashboard screen, Chart Work Area?
