HP XP7 Performance Advisor v6.1 Software Troubleshooting and FAQs Guide

Is the Instant-on license bound to an XP or XP7 disk array?
No. The Instant-on license is provided with every instance of HP XP7 Performance Advisor and is
applicable to all the XP or XP7 disk arrays that are monitored by the current instance of HP XP7
Performance Advisor.
What is the indication that a license is installed on HP XP7 Performance Advisor?
After you install the .dat file and do a fresh configuration collection for the XP or XP7 disk array,
the associated details are displayed in the View License Status section on the License screen. The
Last Updated Time is also an indication that a new license is installed on HP XP7 Performance
Advisor.
If I install a license for internal raw disk capacity of 50 TB and currently only 25 TB is being
monitored, will HP XP7 Performance Advisor monitor the extra 25 TB when added to the XP disk
array at a later date?
Yes. HP XP7 Performance Advisor monitors the additional 25 TB internal raw disk capacity whenever
you add it to your XP disk array, as the existing license key is generated for a 50 TB license capacity
(includes the extra 25 TB disk capacity).
One of the licenses was accidentally deleted from the management station for one of the P9500
Disk Arrays? Following are the questions:
1. Will HP XP7 Performance Advisor stop collecting data for the P9500 Disk Array?
No. HP XP7 Performance Advisor continues to collect data for all the P9500 Disk Arrays.
However, HP XP7 Performance Advisor enters a grace period for the P9500 Disk Array, for
which the license was deleted.
2. Can I reinstall my original license key?
Yes. Your original license key can be reinstalled and HP XP7 Performance Advisor will be
licensed for the original license capacity.
3. Can I generate a duplicate license at the HPAC web site? How do I obtain my original license
key file?
Yes. You can reprint your license and obtain your original license key file at the HPAC website
by following these steps:
a. Access the HPAC license key website, webkey.external.hp.com from your Internet browser.
The Hewlett-Packard Authorization Center license key web page appears.
b. To reprint the license certificates, click Reprint License Certificates on the Main Menu
page.
c. On the Reprint License page, enter your P9500 Disk Array DKC serial number, choose
the Hardware Platform, and click Next.
The list of the license keys associated with your P9500 Disk Array DKC serial number
appears in a table on the Reprint License List page.
d. To view individual license certificates, look for your product title under Software title in
the table. Your product title should be HP XP7 Performance Advisor Software.
e. Select your software title record and click Next. A list of products associated with the
license certificate is shown on the Certificate page.
NOTE: The list should match with the products you have purchased for that specific
software title.
f. Click Save to obtain a .doc format of the software license certificate. A new browser
window appears and contains the license certificate that was shipped to you earlier.
Select File >Save As, from the browser window to save the file. You can also email the
certificate (word document) as a file attachment to your email account.
