1 HP XP7 Performance Advisor Software v6.1 Release Notes This document describes the new features, enhancements, and fixes provided in the v6.1 release of the HP XP7 Performance Advisor software. Description The HP XP7 Performance Advisor Software collects, monitors, and displays the in-depth performance data of XP, P9000 and XP7 disk arrays.
IMPORTANT: • You must install JRE before installing HP XP7 Performance Advisor host agents, except on Windows and OpenVMS. For more information on the supported JRE versions, see HP XP7 Performance Advisor Software OS Support Matrix available on the HP XP7 Performance Advisor Software page. • Starting Performance Advisor v5.5 release, you must have libstdc++ installed for Linux host agents.
Fixes HP XP7 Performance Advisor v6.1 includes the following defect fixes: • License violations messages are displayed in the dashboard, after purging data for respective arrays. • Improper messages displayed in the pamonitor log. • PA Installer does not open the log at the end of an install/upgrade even whenShow the Windows Installer Log checkbox is selected. • The number of records displayed on the current page of the Array View - Custom Group screen are not sorted.
• Ext-Lun on the Custom Groups and Array View Ldev screens and E-LDEV, Ext-LUN, E-Port(s), E-Sequence are not updated for XP7 disk arrays. ETA—: This will be fixed in PA 6.2 release. • The Dashboard Threshold setting screen does not display the array type when the XP and P9500/XP7 disk array tables are displayed. ETA—: This will be fixed in PA 6.2 release.
• For XP/P9500 disk arrays with concatenated parity groups, you might notice 4D+4D RAID type instead of two 2D+2D concatenated parity groups in the Performance Estimator screen. Current Status—No ETA as of HP XP7 Performance Advisor v6.1 release date. • While charting backend transfer metrics for DKAs or ACPs with concatenated RAID groups, you might observe that the total write tracks do not match the sum of the individual DKA or ACP metrics. Current Status—: No ETA as of HP XP7 Performance Advisor v6.
• In HP XP7 Performance Advisor CA screen, primary array serial number is displayed as “0” in the Primary Array column, when the volume type is “SVOL”. In HP XPWatch, the Sec Ser# column displays serial number as “NA”, when the volume type is “SVOL”. Current Status—No ETA as of HP XP7 Performance Advisor v6.1 release date. • SNMP settings does not persist across upgrades. Current Status—No ETA as of HP XP7 Performance Advisor v6.1 release date.
