2. Upgrade from v3.5 or v3.5.2 to XP Performance Advisor v4.x (v4.0, v4.1, v4.5, v4.5.1, or
v4.6). Complete a set of prerequisites and proceed with the upgrade process. For more inform-
ation, see “Using v3.5 or later version of XP Performance Advisor” on page 87.
Using v3.5 or later version of XP Performance Advisor
If you are using a v3.5, v3.5.2, v4.0, v4.1, v4.5, or v4.5.1 of XP Performance Advisor, for the
upgrade to complete successfully, ensure that adequate free disk space (at least double the size of
the existing database) is available on the <Installation drive>, where you intend to upgrade
XP Performance Advisor. For example, if XP Performance Advisor is installed on C:\, ensure that
adequate free disk space is available on C:\ before proceeding with the upgrade.
After the above-mentioned prerequisite is completed, upgrade to the latest version of XP Performance
Advisor and verify whether the upgrade is successful. For more information, see “Upgrading to the
latest version of XP Performance Advisor” on page 89.
Disabling UAC on a Windows Vista management station
IMPORTANT:
This procedure is necessary only if you are upgrading XP Performance Advisor on a Windows Vista
management station.
For more information, see “Disabling the UAC on a Windows Vista management station” on page 30.
