B Stopping and starting host agent services
The following table lists the steps to start, stop, or restart a Windows or UNIX host agent service:

Hostagent service, in the command
prompt window, type /opt/xppa/
hostagent/sbin/xppa stop
For HP XP Performance Advisor
Realtime Server service, in the
command prompt window, type /
opt/xppa/realtime/
xprealtime stop
To stop the host agent service (HP
XP Performance Advisor Hostagent):
1. Go to the Services window.
2. Right-click HP XP Performance
Advisor Hostagent.
3. Click Stop in the drop down
list.
To stop the host agent realtime
service (HP XP Performance Advisor
Realtime Server):
1. Go to the Services dialog box.
2. Right-click HP XP Performance
Advisor Realtime Server.
3. Click Stop in the drop down
list.
Stopping services
This command stops the host agent
services.
For HP XP Performance Advisor
Hostagent service, in the command
prompt window, type /opt/xppa/
hostagent/sbin/xppa start
For HP XP Performance Advisor
Realtime Server, in the command
prompt window, type /opt/xppa/
realtime/xprealtime start
To start the host agent and realtime
service, repeat steps 1 and 2 men-
tioned for stopping the host agent
and realtime service, and click Start
in the drop down list.
Starting services
This command starts the host agent
services.
