Starting the HP StorageWorks XP Performance Advisor Tomcat service
After installing XP Performance Advisor, the HP StorageWorks XP Performance Advisor Tomcat service
might not start. It implies that you cannot launch XP Performance Advisor. This issue is observed on
Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise X64 Edition SP2 management station, where JRE v1.6 is installed.
However, the following services related to XP Performance Advisor will have started on your
management station:
• HP StorageWorks XP Performance Advisor Database
• HP StorageWorks XP Performance Advisor Database Listener
• HP StorageWorks XP Performance Advisor Security
• HP StorageWorks XP Performance Advisor Tomcat Monitor
Resolution
Start the HP StorageWorks XP Performance Advisor Tomcat service by completing the following steps:
1. Select Start > Run and type services.msc.
The Services dialog box appears.
2. Right-click HP StorageWorks XP Performance Advisor Tomcat service and select Start from the
drop down list.
If the issue still persists, the following error message is displayed, which indicates that the JAVA_HOME
variable is not configured on your management station:
