• Only one remote deployment tool can run at a given time. • Review the online Host Software Installation checklist. To view the checklist, start the host agent deployment utility and click Host Software Installation Checklist. Click the link to know the operating system of the remote host. TIP: HP recommends that you install the Management Station and the Host Agent on different machines for better performance.
Preliminary host agent installation tasks NOTE: If you use the local install method instead of the remote deployment, then you need not share the drive or set up services such as rexec and rsh on the hosts. Preparing for the installation on Windows platform Before installing the host agent on the Windows platform, ensure you: 1. Have administrator access to the system. 2. Share the system drive (for example, C$).
• Edit /etc/pam.d/rexec. Comment out (add “#” to the line): # auth required /lib/security/pam_securetty.so • Edit /etc/pam.d/ftp.
