• MP Router IP address: The right section of the status bar lists the MP Router to which this instance of
Switch Manager is connected and, if you are logged on, your user ID.

Logging in to perform administrative tasks
Switch Explorer and Switch Manager support multiple user accounts and two user roles or permission
levels: admin and user.
You need not log in to either Switch Explorer or Switch Manager to view most displays. However, to
perform any administrative task resulting in a change to the system, you must first log in with admin
privileges. The first time you attempt to perform a task for which you need admin privilege, an
Authorization dialog box opens, asking whether you want to log in and continue.
