path. Reasons could include, failed network path, lack of login, or disabled

• A failover may have occurred on the controller pair. Each time a failover
occurs, the connection is lost and a new connection must be established with
the management port.

• The number of target logins is limited to 32 per controller. Verify that the limit
has not been reached by executing show tgt_stats on each target, adding
up the total number of sessions up.
iSCSI configuration was
lost during a MSA1510i
chassis swap out
• All iSCSI information is tied to the serial number of the device. Swapping
chassis results in a change in the serial number.
Sudden loss in
connectivity with
target/LUN
• Duplicate IP address on the network.
• Failure of network path.
• Use of DHCP for server IP addresses.
Reinserted controller fails
to start up
• Reinsertion of a controller within ten seconds of removal may lead to the
failure of the other controller. Allow more than ten seconds between removal
and reinsertion.
