Updating MSA1000 controller firmware
HP-UX environments must install alternative firmware on the MSA1000
controller that exclusively supports the HP-UX operating system. This alternative
firmware supports HP-UX only and is not supported for use with any other
operating system.
Different methods are available for updating the firmware; follow the instructions
that match your environment:
■ Fibre Channel switched fabric deployments, page 2
■ Fibre Channel Arbitrated Loop and direct connect deployments, page 7
Fibre Channel switched fabric deployments
1. Obtain the necessary firmware files:
a. Go to the Software, Firmware & Drivers page of the MSA1000 web
site at
http://www.hp.com/go/msa1000.
b. Select the Controller Firmware option for HP-UX.
c. Do ONE of the following:
— Select the ISO option and create a firmware CD to perform an online
or offline update
— Select the ZIP file option and copy the firmware files to a directory on
the server and perform an online update
d. Record firmware location and version information in the spaces provided
in the last row of Table 1.
