firmware upgrade guide.
Go to the MSA website, and then click Software, firmware & drivers.

Back up the OS and data volumes.

Verify successful backup of OS and data volumes.

Review the latest list of supported servers, HBA models, HBA drivers, and Tru64 UNIX
operating system versions and patch kits as listed in the Compatibility Guide on the
MSA website:

Document and diagram the existing switch fabric configuration.

Record existing device file names. (This information is required to verify the hwmgr
configuration after the firmware upgrade process is complete.)
From the V5.1B operating system, enter: #hwmgr -v d > hwmgr_filename

Record the World Wide Port Name (WWPN) of the currently connected Fibre Channel
HBAs connected to the MSA. (This information is required to set up host connections to
the MSA and to verify the configuration after the firmware upgrade process is
complete.)
From the V5.1B operating system enter:
#hwmgr -show fibre -adapter |grep WWNN
