Examining and Upgrading Your Driver
Before upgrading your system, check to see which driver you have installed by entering
one of the following commands:
lslpp -l Q2100.driver.obj or lslpp -l PC1000.driver.obj
The output of either command should look similar to the following display:
Fileset Level State Description
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Path: /usr/lib/objrepos
PC1000.driver.obj 1.5.11.0 COMMITTED PC1000 Fibre Channel Adapter Driver
IMPORTANT: Before you upgrade the driver, stop all I/O that is currently going to the RAID
arrays that are connected to the Cambex adapter.
If you have a driver with the package name "PC1000.driver.obj", you can upgrade the
driver without deleting and re-adding your configuration. To upgrade the driver if your
driver package is PC1000.driver.obj, perform the following procedure:
1. Mount the Storageworks CD-ROM
2. Go to the <CD-ROM mount directory>/fcdriver directory
3. Execute the command:
installp -acd PC1000.driver.obj
4. Enter the lslpp command to examine the version number of the driver. The driver should
be version 1.5.11.1.
If your driver package is not PC1000.driver.obj, manually uninstall the current driver and
reinstall the new driver from the CD by performing the following procedure:
1. Make a list of your configurations.
2. Stop the agent by performing the following actions:
a. Access the directory where the current agent is installed (by default /usr/stgwks2).
b. Run the stgwks_aix.sh script and the Command Console Agent Installation
and Configuration Menu opens.
c. Choose Option 3 (Agent Maintenance).
d. Choose Option 3 (Start/Stop Agent).
