The Host Bus Adapter (HBA) installation is accomplished by first installing the HBA
driver.
NOTE: If installing the RAID subsystem on an HACMP cluster, install the HBA and it's driver into
each IBM host server in the cluster.
Storage Works Platform Kit Installation
Before installing the Cambex driver and the Storageworks software be sure you have
performed the following actions:
■ Configured the HSG80 RAID array according to Chapters 1 and 2.
■ Physically installed the Cambex adapter in your machine.
■ Connected all required cables.
Mount your CD-ROM by performing the following procedure:
1. Insert the Storageworks CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive.
2. Locate your CD-ROM device by entering the command:
lsdev -Cc cdrom. The output
from the command should be similar to the following:
cd0 Available 10-68-00-3,0 SCSI Multimedia CD-ROM Drive
3. Create a directory to mount the CD-ROM, by entering a command similar to the
following:
mkdir /cdrom
4. Mount the CD-ROM device by entering the command:
mount -rv cdrfs /dev/cd0 /cdrom
Where:
/dev/cd0 is the CD-ROM device in the /dev/ directory
/cdrom is the directory you created to mount your CD-ROM
There are two types of StorageWorks platform kit installs: a fresh install or an upgrade
install.
■ Perform a fresh install if your system does not have a Cambex driver or any
StorageWorks software installed.
■ Perform an upgrade install if you currently have a Cambex driver and/or Storageworks
software installed.
