Client Functions and Storage Subsystem Options
The Client functions, Options 6 9, and storage subsystem Options, items 10 13, must
be consistent on each node within the cluster. Since the HACMP_Config.sh script does
not synchronize these functions automatically, any changes made to Client Options or
storage subsystem options must be repeated manually on each node in the cluster.
Failover with Agent as Part of a Resource Group
When HACMP is started, each participating node activates its service IP address and
deactivates its boot IP address. Unless they have been configured to operate using the
service IP addresses, the Agent will be inaccessible to Clients. In order for the Agent to
maintain communication with its Client(s), the service IP address must be part of the HA
Resource Group. These procedures are documented in the section Normal Operation of
the Agent on an HACMP Cluster, page 424.
Client IP Address
The Client IP Address must be placed into a Resource Group during the HACMP cluster
initialization. The characteristics of this Resource Group must match those of the other
shared resources in the cluster. This means that if the shared Volume Group(s) are
identified as part of a Cascading Resource Group, then the Client IP Address must be
placed into a Cascading Resource Group. If the shared Volume Group(s) is identified as
part of a Rotating Resource Group, then the Client IP Address must be placed into a
Rotating Resource Group.
Event Scripts
The operation of HACMP is directed by several event scripts, which will be automatically
customized during the Agent installation as described in Installing and Configuring the
Agent, page 45. These Event Scripts are usually located in
/USR/SBIN/CLUSTER/EVENTS by default.
Notification within HACMP
Refer to Password and Notification, page 425.
