SWCC Clients
Client specifications must be the same for each node of the cluster to avoid unpredictable
system behavior. Check that the $STEAMDIR/steam/etc/client.ini file is identical on each
node.
Running the Agent
There is an important distinction between running the Agent in a single host environment
or in a cluster. In a single host environment, the Agent is started when you install it and it
restarts automatically on restart of the machine or if it stops for any reason.
In an HACMP cluster, the installation script does not put an entry into the /etc/inittab and
the agent is not restarted if stopped. During operation of the HACMP environment as a
cluster, Agent failure is handled by means of the HACMP event scripts provided in the
Installation Kit.
HACMP Implementation for the Agent
Prerequisites
Table 4–4 lists the software programs that must be correctly installed and configured on
each node in the cluster for the Agent to operate properly in an HACMP environment.
