4. Select Option 1 from the Command Console Agent Installation and Configuration
menu. You see the following display.
Checking for agent...OK
Would you like to upgrade the agent now (Y/n)?
y
If you did not upgrade your driver version, then the upgrade is complete. If you upgraded
your driver (as described in“Examining and Upgrading Your Driver” on page 3–10) you
need to import the volume groups from the disks on the RAID Array and reconfigure your
system. To import your groups, enter the following command:
importvg <disk name>.
The SWCC Agent configuration should have been saved. To check, and if necessary fix
any discrepancies between your old configuration and your new configuration, run the
configuration script config.sh located in the <agent directory>/steam/bin directory.
Running the Agent
The Agent program was automatically started when you installed it, and it was installed to
restart automatically if the system is restarted or it stops for any reason.
The installation script places an entry in the “/etc/inittab” file to implement automatic
execution of the Agent. The tag field in the file is “steam”.
NOTE: The HACMP cluster software installation script does not place an entry into the
“/etc/inittab” file. During operation of the HACMP as a cluster, Agent failure is handled by
means of the HACMP event scripts.
Reconfiguring the Agent
Use the configuration script to reconfigure the the Agent after you have completed the
install. Start the configuration script manually by entering the command
<agent install
directory>/steam/bin/
config.sh. You can also start the configuration script by entering
the command
<agent directory>/stgwks_aix.sh and choosing Option 3 from the
Command Console Agent Installation and Configuration menu.
Uninstall Agent, Storageworks Software,
and Cambex Driver.
There are two types of uninstalls: Agent Only and Everything.
