Installing and Configuring the HS-Series Agent 4–15

The last part of the install provides the opportunity to start the agent. If you do not wish to

start the agent at this point, you can start the agent at a later date by using the configuration

script. The agent will automatically restart when you reboot your machine.

The STEAM Agent package has been successfully installed.

Would you like to execute the Agent now? [Y,n]

The STEAM agent has been started.

The installation process is complete.

Upgrading the Agent

The RAID subsystem, client, and notification information is preserved when you upgrade

the Agent. The upgrade stops a running agent and replaces some of the executable files in

your <agent directory>/bin directory. The files that will be replaced are:

■ stgwks_aix.sh

■ install.sh

■ upgrade.sh

■ steamd

■ ctrlinfo

■ config.sh

To begin the upgrade process, perform the following actions:

1. Mount the Storageworks CD-ROM.

2. Access the directory <cd mount dir>/swcc/agent.

3. Run the stgwks_aix.sh script.
