adapter, see page 1–11.
14. Rename the connection(s) to something meaningful to the system and easy to
remember. For example, to assign the name ANGEL1A1 to connection !NEWCON01,
enter:
RENAME !NEWCON01 ANGEL1A1
For a recommended naming convention, see “Naming Connections,” page 1–11.
15. Specify the operating system for the connection:
SET ANGEL1A1 OPERATING_SYSTEM=SGI
16. Verify the changes:
SHOW CONNECTIONS
Mark or tag all Fibre Channel cables at both ends for ease of maintenance.
Repeat Procedure for Each Host Adapter Connections
17. Repeat step 14, 15, and 16 for each of that adapter’s host connections, or delete the
unused connections from the table.
18. For each host adapter, repeat steps 13 through 17.
Verify Installation
To verify installation for your SGI Irix host, enter the following command:
SHOW DEVICES

1. Connect the computer or terminal to the controller as shown in Figure 5–1. The
connection to the computer is through the COM1 or COM2 ports.
