5–2 HSG60 ACS Solution Software Version 8.6 for Sun Solaris Installation and Configuration Guide
To install a controller or cache module and the PCMCIA card, see the Compaq
StorageWorks HSG60 Array Controller ACS Version 8.6 Maintenance and Service
Guide.
Establishing a Local Connection
A local connection is required to configure the controller until a command console
LUN (CCL) is established using the CLI. Communication with the controller can be
through the CLI or SWCC.
The maintenance port, as shown in Figure 51, provides a way to connect a maintenance
terminal. The maintenance terminal can be an EIA-423 compatible terminal or a computer
running a terminal emulator program. The maintenance port accepts a standard RS-232
jack. The maintenance port cable shown in Figure 51 has a 9-pin connector molded onto
the end for a PC connection. If you need a terminal connection or a 25-pin connection, you
can order optional cabling.

CAUTION: The maintenance port generates, uses, and can radiate radio-frequency
energy through its cables. This energy may interfere with radio and television
reception. Disconnect all maintenance port cables when not communicating with the
controller through the local connection.
