Hardware and software requirements
The following table summarizes the hardware and software requirements for the HP EFS WAN Accelerator
Manager.
New features in version 3.0
Key improvements for the HP EFS WAN Accelerator Manager are in the area of global reporting, visibility,
and central policy configuration. This section describes these key new features.
Trending to one year
The trending interval for performance reports is increased from 30 days to one year.
Period zooming
In addition to the existing static trending intervals, HP EFS WAN Accelerator Manager v3.0 provides the
ability to zoom into a specific time period and retrieve a performance report.
Port and application auto-discovery
The HP EFS WAN Accelerator Manager extends the new RiOS v3.0 support for auto discovering ports and
associated application by making these applications available as aggregated reports. Get a performance
snapshot of all applications across all your distributed sites.
Pass-through traffic statistics
The HP EFS WAN Accelerator Manager provides network-wide visibility into per-port byte counts for TCP
traffic passed through by the HP EFS WAN Accelerator. View aggregated totals across locations or a birds
eye view of pass-through traffic per device.
NFS-application streamlining
The HP EFS WAN Accelerator Manager enables you to configure acceleration for Network File Service
(NFS) operations over wide area networks (WANs). A variety of use cases ranging from copy operations
to opens and saves within CAD or CAM applications are accelerated by orders of magnitude. NFS
prefetching, read-aheads, and write pre-acknowledgements headline the NFS optimizations.
Performance statistics by QoS class
Per QoS class traffic reporting, including bytes or packets sent versus bytes or packets dropped, is
extended to the HP EFS WAN Accelerator Manager for global reports across distributed locations.
HP Component Hardware and Software Requirements
HP EFS WAN Accelerator 19 inch (483 mm) two- or four-post rack.
