HP StorageWorks Enterprise File Services WAN Accelerator 2.1 Installation and Configuration Guide (November 2005)
HP STORAGEWORKS EFS WAN ACCELERATOR INSTALLATION AND CONFIGURATION GUIDE 27
2 - INSTALLING AND
C
ONFIGURING THE HP EFS
For in-path configurations, check the speed and duplex settings on the
Local Area Network (LAN) switch and WAN router that the HP EFS
WAN Accelerator will connect to. The settings for the HP EFS WAN
Accelerator and the LAN and WAN devices must match. If these settings
do not match, optimization is degraded.
NOTE: The HP EFS WAN Accelerator automatically negotiates duplex settings. If one
end of the link is set to auto-negotiate and the other end of the link is not set to auto-
negotiate, the duplex settings default to half-duplex. This duplex mismatch passes
traffic, but it causes late collisions and results in degraded optimization. To achieve
maximum optimization set the devices to 100 or full.
Mounting the HP EFS WAN Accelerator to a
Rack
Refer to the instructions that came with your rack kit.
