Switch Components
The FC Entry Switch 8B or FC Switch 8B consists of the following components:
• A chassis designed to be mounted in a 1U rack space, with forced-air cooling that flows
from the fan side of the switch to the cable side.
• Eight optical ports, compatible with SFP (small form factor pluggable) media.
• One RS-232 serial port (DB9 connector) on the SFP media side.
• One IEEE compliant RJ-45 connector on the SFP media side for use with 10/100 Mbps
Ethernet or in-band.
• Human-readable labels (including IP address label) and bar code labels on the top of the
switch.
• A total of 20 LEDs:
- One LED on the SFP media side to indicate the overall switch status.
- Two LEDs for each of the eight ports to indicate port status and link speed
information.
- Two LEDs for the Ethernet port to indicate port status and link speed information.
- One LED in the center of the fan side to indicate the overall switch status.
• One universal input power supply.
