Starting EVM and Controlling Access
3. Stop or start the EVM daemon.
• For HP Tru64 UNIX:
— Enter /sbin/rc2.d/K89entrprsvolmgr stop to halt the EVM
daemon.
— Enter /sbin/rc3.d/S89entrprsvolmgr start to start the
EVM daemon.
• For HP-UX:
— Enter /sbin/rc2.d/K890entrprsvolmgr stop to halt the
EVM daemon.
— Enter /sbin/rc2.d/S890entrprsvolmgr start to start the
EVM daemon.
• For IBM AIX:
— Enter /usr/opt/CPQevm/bin/evmshutdwn to stop the EVM
daemon.
— Enter /usr/opt/CPQevm/bin/entrprsvolmgr to start the EVM
daemon.
• For Sun Solaris:
— Enter /etc/rc2.d/K89entrprsvolmgr stop to halt the EVM
daemon.
— Enter /etc/rc3.d/S89entrprsvolmgr start to start the EVM
daemon.
Keeping the EVM Server Running
The EVM server must be kept running to create, run, monitor, or manage EVM jobs.
Do not stop the EVM server unless the EVM network is intentionally being shut
down.
CAUTION: Stopping the EVM server also shuts down the associated EVM network.
Any EVM job that is running on the EVM network will stop, and no EVM job can be run
until the EVM server is started again.
