The following are snapshot requirements and limitations for HSG- and HSV-based
storage systems.
HSG-based Storage System Snapshot Requirements
ACS version 8.6S, 8.6P, 8.7S, or 8.7P
Dual HSG80 controllers
512 MB of cache per controller
Mirrored cache
HSG-based Storage System Snapshot Limitations
There can be no more than four snapshots per storage system.
You cannot make a snapshot of a snapshot.
You cannot make a snapshot of a unit that already has a snapshot.
You cannot make a snapshot of a controller partition.
You cannot make a snapshot of an initiator-side remote copy set.
You cannot make a snapshot of a concatset.
A snapshot and its source unit must both be in the same unit number range from 0
to 99 or from 100 to 199.
Snapshots are not fault tolerant and will not survive a path or controller failover.

There can be no more than seven simultaneous snapshots of a given virtual disk.
You cannot mix fully allocated and demand allocated snapshot types on the same
virtual disk.
