Troubleshooting
This chapter describes known issues and suggested resolutions. It discusses the
following major topics:

EVM Logs
EVM logs are the primary source of diagnostic and troubleshooting information. The
EVM Log Reporting page in the EVM GUI provides access to all the log files that are
stored on the Management Appliance (EVM server).
The EVM Log Reporting page provides access to four basic types of logs:
• EVM Server Logs
• EVM Job Logs
• EVM Switchboard Logs
• Host Agent Configuration Logs
Each log type is discussed below.
EVM host agent logs are stored in the following directories for each host operating
system:
• HP Tru64 UNIX: \usr\opt\CPQevm\bin\logs
• HP-UX: \opt\CPQevm\bin\logs
• IBM AIX: \usr\opt\CPQevm\bin\logs
• Sun Solaris: \opt\CPQevm\bin\logs
• Windows: ..\Enterprise Volume Manager\bin\logs
