Migration Planning
3. Install the EVM V2.0D Server on a Management Appliance (refer to the
Enterprise Volume Manager (Multi-OS) Server Version 2.0D Update Installation
Guide, AA-RQ7YB-TE).
4. Migrate each EVM client computer to a supported EVM V2.0D host agent
computer (see Migrating EVM Server and EVM Client Computers on
page 124).
5. Migrate the EVM server computer to a supported EVM V2.0D host agent
computer (see Migrating EVM Server and EVM Client Computers on
page 124).
6. Re-create the old EVM jobs as EVM V2.0D jobs, as desired (see Re-creating
EVM V1.x Jobs as EVM V2.0D Jobs on page 125).
Migrating EVM Server and EVM Client Computers
To migrate EVM V1.x network computers to a supported EVM V2.0D host agent
computer, complete the following procedure:
1. Using EVM V1.x documentation, remove the EVM client from all host
computers.
2. Using EVM V1.x documentation, remove the EVM server from the host
computer.
NOTE: Since the EVM server in an EVM V2.0D network resides on a Management
Appliance, consider converting the EVM server computer in the EVM V1.x network to an
EVM host agent computer.
3. Using the appropriate EVM Host Agent Update Installation Guide, install the
EVM host agent software on each host computer, following the EVM network
planning worksheets for this EVM V2.0D network.
IMPORTANT: The Management Appliance name is required during the EVM host agent
software installation procedure. Make sure this name is properly recorded on the EVM
network planning worksheets.
