6. Novell NetWare: Allow the hosts to recognize new units.
a. If the hosts are shut down, boot them. Booting the hosts allows Novell NetWare to recognize
the drives.
b. If the hosts are already up and running or if they do not recognize the drives, issue the
following command from the console before mounting the volumes:
SCAN FOR NEW DEVICES
You can also use the NWCONFIG utility to issue this same command.
7. Sun Solaris: Allow the hosts to recognize new units.
a. Reboot the servers using the command reboot -- -r and log in using an account that has
administrative privileges.
b. If Secure Path is not configured for these units, you will not see the drive. You will need to edit
the World Wide IDs in the /kernal/drv/ldLite.conf file. To find the World Wide IDs of the units,
use the SHOW UnitName command on the controller.
You may also need to adjust /kernal/drv/mda.conf and /kernal/drv/sd.conf to accommodate for
the extra LUNs. If you edited ldLite.conf, mda.conf, and sd.conf, then reboot the server using
the reboot -- -r command. You should now be able to see the drives using the FORMAT
command.
