If one of the HSG80 controllers is still capable of communicating to its peer controller on the remote
site, replication of data to the remote site continues.
Failure of HSG80 at Local Site
If an HSG80 fails for any reason, all units fail over to the other surviving controller in the HSG80
controller pair. The surviving controller continues to serve the I/O requests from the host and continues
data replication to the other site.
Secure Path shows a failed controller, with all units failed over to the surviving controller, as shown in
Figure 6.

When the failed controller is replaced with a functioning controller, the solution returns to the Normal
state.
