Full Failback Procedure
Preparing the Initiator Site
1. Shut down the initiator host if it is still up and running. (This is not necessary for
OpenVMS.)
2. Both controllers on the initiator site must be restarted after the site failover has taken
place. Do this with the following CLI commands:
RESTART OTHER_CONTROLLER
RESTART THIS_CONTROLLER
3. The connection between the sites must be broken. To disable controller host access,
use the following CLI commands:
SET THIS_CONTROLLER Port_1_Topology=off
SET OTHER_CONTROLLER Port_1_Topology=off
4. Check all units to make sure there is no lost data. If there is lost data, clear it with the
following CLI command:
CLEAR_ERRORS UnitName LOST_DATA
5. For each remote copy set, use the following CLI command to set the error mode to
normal:
SET RemoteCopySetName ERROR_MODE = NORMAL
6. Use the following CLI command to turn off logging for all of the association sets.
SET AssociationSetName NOLOG_UNIT
