Note: If multiple event codes are found, note all codes and associated severity levels.

Record the date, time, and listed sequence, and determine if the codes are related to

the reported problem. Begin fault isolation with the most recent event code with the

highest severity level. Other codes may accompany this event code, or may indicate a

normal indication after a problem is recovered.

1. At the Hardware View, click Logs > Event Log. The Event Log displays

(Figure 13).

2. Record the event code, date, time, and severity (Informational, Minor,

Major, Severe, or Fatal).

3. Record all event codes that may relate to the reported problem.

Were one or more event codes found?

NO YES

↓ Go to Table 4 on page 27 to interpret event codes. Exit MAP.

Return to step 1 and perform fault isolation again. If this is the second time at this

step, contact the next level of support. Exit MAP.

Are you at the switch reporting the problem?

YES NO

↓ Go to step 51.
