5. After rebooting the HAFM appliance at the LCD panel, log on to the HAFM
appliance Windows 2000 desktop through a LAN connection to a
browser-capable PC. Refer to the HP StorageWorks Edge Switch 2/24
Installation Guide for instructions on accessing the HAFM appliance desktop.
HAFM starts and the HAFM Login dialog box displays.
6. At the HAFM Login dialog box, type a user ID and password (obtained in
“MAP 0000: Start MAP” on page 32, and both are case sensitive), and click
Login. HAFM opens and the HAFM main window displays.
Did the main window display and does HAFM appear operational?
NO YES
↓ The HAFM appliance appears operational. Exit MAP.

Re-install HAFM. Refer to “Install or Upgrade Software” on page 190 for
instructions.
Did HAFM install and open successfully?
NO YES
↓ The HAFM appliance appears operational. Exit MAP.

Advise the customer and next level of support that the HAFM appliance hard
drive should be restored to its original factory configuration. If the customer and
support personnel do not concur, go to step 13.
1. Format the HAFM appliance hard drive. Refer to supporting documentation
shipped with the HAFM appliance for instructions.
2. Restore the HAFM appliance hard drive using the HAFM Appliance
Restore/Boot CD shipped with the HAFM appliance. Refer to the readme.txt
file on the CD for instructions.
3. Install the HAFM application.
Did the HAFM appliance hard drive format, and did the operating system and
HAFM install and open successfully?
NO YES
↓ The HAFM appliance appears operational. Exit MAP.
