Inspect the status symbol associated with the Sphereon 4500 Switch
at the main window’s physical map or product list. The symbol shows
the status of switch or the status of the link between the management
server or customer-supplied server and switch as follows:
• No status symbol indicates that the switch is operational.
• A yellow triangle indicates that the switch is operating in
degraded mode.
• A red diamond indicates that the switch is not operational.
• A grey square with yellow exclamation mark indicates that the
status of the switch is unknown.
Is a grey square with yellow exclamation mark associated with the
icon representing the switch reporting the problem?
YES NO
↓ Go to step 28.
The status symbol indicates the management server or customer-
supplied server cannot communicate with the switch because:
• The switch-to-server Ethernet link failed.
• AC power distribution in the switch failed, or AC power was
disconnected.
• The switch CTP card failed.
