Is a power supply or power distribution system failure indicated?

YES NO

↓ The switch appears operational. Exit MAP.

Have the customer inspect and verify that facility power is within

specifications. These specifications are:

• One single-phase connection for the power supply.

• Input power between 100 and 240 VAC, and at least 5 amps.

• Input frequency between 47 and 63 Hz.

Is facility power within specifications?

YES NO

↓ Ask the customer to correct the facility power problem. When

facility power is corrected, continue to the next step.

Verify power supply and switch operation. Inspect the switch for

indications of being powered on, such as:

• At the front bezel, an illuminated PWR LED (green)

or ERR LED (amber).

• Illuminated LEDs adjacent to Fibre Channel ports.

• Audio emanations and airflow from cooling fans.

Is a power supply or power distribution system failure indicated?

YES NO

↓ The switch appears operational. Exit MAP.

The power supply may be operational, but the CTP card is not

receiving DC power. The in-card circuit breaker may have tripped due

to a power surge, or the CTP card failed. Disconnect the power cord,

then reconnect the cord (power cycle the switch) to reset the CTP

card.

Did power cycling the switch solve the problem?

NO YES

↓ The switch appears operational. Exit MAP.
