be pushed to an HP EFS WAN Accelerator data store, eliminating the cold hit that occurs when the HP EFS WAN Accelerator has not seen the data before. Improved CIFS optimizations RiOS v3.0 provides additional improvements for a number of Windows file sharing applications and use cases. Proxy File Service v3.0 Proxy File Service (PFS) has been updated with RiOS v3.0.
Increase in connection limit The connection limit has been increased for the following models when running on 3.0 code: HP ProLiant DL380-3010 (2400 to 3000) and DL380-5010 (4500 to 5000). New models supported Additional new models are supported: HP EFS WAN Accelerator DL380-3020, DL380-3520, and DL380-6020. These models and the existing model DL380-5520 run in 64-bit mode with RiOS v3.0.
The previous functionality works very well for network devices, such as the HP EFS WAN Accelerator. However, with the addition of PFS features, there are the following implications: • Any configuration change such as add or delete of a share, if not saved automatically, causes the system to start with the impaired functionality and causes service disruption. • There is no concept of switching configurations with PFS. If a saved configuration "save1" has system part of domain "save1.
Miscellaneous issues SNMP configuration The HP EFS WAN Accelerator Manager has two graphical user interfaces; one for WAN Accelerator management and general system management (the Management Console), and the other for the HP System Management Homepage. Use the Management Console or the command-line interface to modify SNMP settings, rather than the System Management Homepage. To change the read-write community string, use the snmp-server rwcommunity CLI command.
Shutting down the system When shutting down the system using the web-based interface or the command-line interface, the system will not automatically power down. A few minutes after the shutdown command is issued, the system goes into a mode that is safe to power down by using the power button. Reverting from version 3.x to 2.x When reverting from EFS WAN Accelerator version 3.x to version 2.
