272 Error messages
Probable Cause
Indicates that the temperature of this blade has risen above the critical threshold. This usually follows a
high-temperature message. This message only occurs on the Core Switch 2/64, SAN Director 2/128, and
4/256 SAN Director.
Recommended Action
Run the tempShow command to monitor switch temperatures. Refer to the hardware reference manual for
the temperature range of your switch.
Run the fanShow command to verify all the fans are working properly.
Make sure that the area is well ventilated and that the room temperature is within operational range of
your switch. Refer to the hardware reference manual for your switch for the operational temperature range.
If the message persists, replace the blade.
Severity
CRITICAL
HIL-1503
Message
Probable Cause
Indicates that the temperature of this blade has risen above the maximum threshold for at least two minutes.
The blade is shut down to prevent further damage. This usually follows a high-temperature warning
message. This message only occurs on the Core Switch 2/64, SAN Director 2/128, and 4/256 SAN
Director.
Recommended Action
Run the tempShow command to monitor switch temperatures. Refer to the hardware reference manual for
the temperature range of your switch.
Run the fanShow command to verify all the fans are working properly.
Make sure that the area is well ventilated and that the room temperature is within operational range of
your switch. Refer to the hardware reference manual for your switch for the operational temperature range.
If the message persists, replace the faulty blade.
