Probable Cause
Indicates that the number of authentication failures has risen above the high boundary. Authentication
failures can occur for many reasons. The switch on the other side might not support the protocol, have an
invalid certificate, not be signed properly or send unexpected packets. The port where authentication fails
is segmented. This counter keeps track of the number of authentication failures.
Recommended Action
Responses to security-class messages depend on user policies. Consult your security administrator for
response strategies and policies.

Indicates that the number of authentication failures has changed from a value outside of the acceptable
range to a value within the acceptable range. Authentication failures can occur for many reasons. The
switch on the other side might not support the protocol, have an invalid certificate, not be signed properly
or send unexpected packets. The port where authentication fails is segmented. This counter keeps track of
the number of authentication failures.
