Note The logical switches and CP cards can now be accessed remotely,
using telnet or Web Tools. Ensure that the switch is not being modified
from any other connections during the remaining steps. The switch
supports up to two telnet sessions with administrative privileges at the same
time for each Ethernet port.
9. Optional: Customize the switch names for the logical switches if needed
by completing the following steps. HP recommends using the default
switch names if possible:
Note Changing the switch name causes a domain address format RSCN to
be issued.
a. Enter the command
switchName with the new name in quotes as
follows (
sw10 is an example name):
switchName "sw10"
For more information about the switchName command, refer to the
hp StorageWorks fabric os reference.
b. Record the new switch name for future reference.
c. To customize the switch name for the other logical switch, logout of
the CP session, connect the serial cable to the other CP card, log in as
admin, and then repeat Steps 9a-b for the other logical switch.
10.Optional: Modify the domain IDs by completing the following steps. A
list of the current domain IDs is available through the telnet command
fabricShow.
Note The default domain ID for both switches is “1”. To prevent a domain
ID conflict, make the domain IDs unique before connecting the switches to
the fabric.
a. Disable the switch by entering the following command:
switchDisable
b. Enter the following command:
configure
