stored in the WWN card and in the flash memory of the CP cards, and is
automatically mirrored to the standby CP card.
Configuration information can be backed up by uploading the configuration
to a workstation using the
ConfigUpload command and can be
downloaded to the active CP card using the
ConfigDownload command.
For information about commands and whether they can be entered through
the active or standby CP card, refer to the hp StorageWorks fabric os
reference.
Note To ensure the current configuration is always available if needed, a
routine backup of the configuration is recommended.
HP recommends using a telnet session to log in to the logical switch and
modify configuration information. The HP StorageWorks Core Switch 2/64
supports up to two telnet sessions with administrative privileges at the same
time on each Ethernet port.
Note The same administrative login account applies to both logical
switches and both CP cards. If the password is changed on a logical switch
or CP card, it is automatically changed for both logical switches and both
CP cards.
The following are some of the parameters in the configuration:
• General configuration and switch status. For information about
modifying or interpreting these parameters through the
configure
command, refer to the hp StorageWorks fabric os reference.
• The domain ID for each 16-port card in slots 1-4 (logical switch 0) or
for each 16-port cards in slots 7-10 (logical switch 1). The default
domain ID for both logical switches is “1” that can be reconfigured if
necessary through the
configure command.
• A logical IP address and subnet mask for each logical switch
(modifiable through the
ipAddrSet command).
Note Resetting a logical IP address while the switch has active IP traffic,
due to Web Tools, Fabric Watch, SNMP, and other applications, may cause
them to be interrupted or stopped.
