Continuou

not functio

Make sure that t
he problem is not being caused by the
computer or
Ethernet hardware or software, and restart the
computer. Restarting the Remote Web Console computer
does not affec

Continuous Access Journal operations in
progress.
Make sure tha
t
all Continuous Access Journal requirements
and
restrict
ions are met. See Preparing for Continuous
Access Jour
nal
Operations on page 41.
Make sure th
at
the primary storage system, secondary
storage sys
tem, and remote copy connections are powered
on, and NVS and cache are fully operational.
Check all the entered values and parameters to make sure
that
you entered the correct information on the Remote
Web Console computer (for example, secondar y storage
system S/
N, path parameters, primary data volume I Ds,
and
secon
dary data volume IDs).
If
you are
using Performance Monitor, refrain from using it.
An initiator or RCP channel-enable LED
indicator (on the storage system control
window) is off or ashing.
Please call HP technical support for assistance.

Paircreate or pairresync operati on resulted
in a
timeout error.
If the timeout error was caused by a hardware failure, a
SIM will be generated. If this occurs, call HP technical
support, and retry the Continuous Access Journal
operations af ter the problem is solved.
If no
SIM was generated, wait for a while (5 or 6 minutes),
the
n
check the pa ir status of the pair(s) being created or
resumed. If the pa ir status changed correctly, the failed
op
eration completed after the timeout message was issued.
If
the pair status did not change as expected, a heavy
workload might have prevented the Continuous Access
J
ournal operation from being completed. In this case, retry
t
he
Continuous Access Journal operation when the storage
system has a lighter workload.
