reconfigure the remote copy connections to add another RCU to the MCU, or you can remove the remote
copy connections and reconfigure the MCU ports (initiator ports to ordinary targ et ports for fibre) to
provide additional host channels for the MCU.
Note: If all affected Continuous Access pairs have not b e en released, the MCU will reject the d elete RCU
operation to prevent accidental release of Continuous Access pairs.
The RCU OperationÆDel ete RCU command allows you to delete an RCU from an MCU CU. The MCU will
not
allow you to delete an RCU which still has pairs with the MCU.
To delete one or more RCUs from an MCU CU:
1. Make su re that all affected Continuous Access pairs have been released.
2. Click the RCU Operation tab, and click the MCU&RCU display button.
3. Select the RCU(s) that you want to delete from the RCU list.
4. Right-click the RCU(s), click RCU Operation, and then click Delete RCU.When a confirmation
message appea rs, click OK to delete the RCU, or click Cancel to cancel your request to delete
the
RCU. The p review list displays the requested delete RCU o peration(s).
5. Verify the requested operation(s) displayed in the preview list. To remove one or m ore
operations, select the operation(s) from the preview list, right-click, and click Delete.To cancel all
operations, select all the operations in the preview list, right-click, and click the Delete command,
or
click the Cancel button.
6. To delete the RCU(s), click the Apply button.
Asynchronous Operations
The Continuous Access A synchronous operations include:

Setting t
he asynchronous copy options (see “Setting the Asynchronous Copy Options” on page 84).

Adding consistency (CT) groups (see “Adding Consistency Groups”onpage85),
• Changing
the
consistency group o ptions (see
“Changing the Consistency G roup Options”onpage86),

Viewing
the consistency g roup status (see “Viewing Consistency Group Status” on page 88), and

Deleting consistency g roups (see “Deleting Consistency Groups”onpage89).
The Asyn
chronous Operation window (see “Asynchronous Op eration Window” on page 62) allows you
to perf
orm the asynchronous operations. All operations performed on the Asynchronous Operation
window have a common procedure. To per form any operation on the Asynchronous Operation window:
1. Select the LDKC where the desired consistency group belongs, or select Used or Not Used from
the
tre
einthe Asynchronous Operation tab.
2. Select the d esired consistency group(s) in the tree.
3. Right-click the selected item(s) to display the pop -up menu:

Operation: Allows you to per form the following operations: add CT
group ( “Adding Consistency Groups” on page 85), change CT group option
(“Changing the Consistency Group Options” on page 86), view CT group

us (“Viewing Consistency Group Status” on page 88), and delete C T group
(“Deleting Consistency Groups” on page 89).
4. Click the command for the desire d operation, use the dialog box to perform the operation, and
close the dialog box. There is no dialog box for the delete CT group operation. The preview list
displays the requested operation(s).
5. Ver
ify the sp ecified asynchronous operation(s). M ake changes as follows:
• To change an operation, select the desired operation from the preview list, right-click, click
Modify, make the desired changes, and close the dialog box. The preview list displays
the
updated information.
