List: When you select MCU&RCU in the Display box, the list displays the detailed MCU/RCU
information (see MCU&RCU Display on the RCU Operation Window”onpage59) for the LDKC
(when selected), the selected CU grouping (grouping each 16 CUs), or the selected CU (CU Free
and
CU#). The MCU/RCU information can be sor ted by column in ascending or descending
order. For CUs with more than one MCU-RCU path, each path is displayed in a separate row.
When
you select Port in the Display box, the list displays the detailed port information (see
Port Display on the RCU O peration Window on page 61) for the storage system (if selected )
or for the selected channel adapter or port type. The port information can be sorted by column
in ascending
or descending order.
Preview list: When you select MCU&RCU in the Display box, the preview list displays the settings
before you click the Apply button for ad ding or deleting RCU(s) or changing RCU o ptions. To
change or delete settings, right-click in the preview list. W hen you select Port in the Display box,

MCU&RCU Display on the RCU Operation Window
When the MC U&RCU radio button is clicked in the Di splay box, the RCU Operation window displays the
LDKC#,CU
grouping, and CUs (CU Free and CU#) in the tree hierarchy and the MCU/RCU information in
the
list
and the preview list. If you use CU Free, you can create a pa ir with another storage system without
specify
ing a
CU. Only CUs which include active MCUs or RCUs are displayed. W hen an MCU-RCU path
fails, the Continuous Access software displays an err or icon (
)for theaffected CU.
Note
: LDKC#01 is notavailablefor thecurrent microcodeversion.
Select Subsystem to display all MCU/RCU information (see Figure 18 on page 58).
Select the desired CU to display the MCU/RCU information for that CU (see Figure 19 on page 60). You
can select only one CU at a time. The MCU/RCU information includes:
CU: CU number which is selected on the tree. If you select C U Free, Any will be displayed.
Type: MCU or RCU. MCU is displayed when the storage system that you are accessing is used as
the
RCU of the pair.
S/N: Serial number of the other CU of the pair (ve digits). The LDKC number (two digits)
is also displayed next to the S/N.
ID: I D of the other CU of the pair. If you select CU Free, the pa th group ID will be displayed in
two-digit hexadecimal with an asterisk or as D efault. Path g roup IDs are used for identifying
groups of logical paths. If you select a CU other than CU Free, SSID will be displayed as
in
four-digit hexadecimal.
Paired CU: CU number of the other CU of the pair. If you select CU Free, Any will be displayed.
M-R Path: Path channel type (bre) between the other CU of the pair. This column is blank
when the connected CU is an MCU.
Status: Normal indicates no path failure to the RCU. Failed indicates tha t a failure occurred in
all paths
to the RCUs. Warning indicates that a failed path to the RCU exists. This column is
blank
when the connected CU is an MCU.
Num. of Path: N umb er of paths (blank when the c onnected CU is an MCU).
Double-click the selected CU to display the RCU information for that CU (see Figure 20 on page 61). If
you select CU Free, the controller ID, model name, RCU serial number, LDKC number, and path group
ID
are displayed next to the RCU icon. If you select a CU number, the RCU serial number and CU
number are displayed next to the RCU icon. You can double-click an RCU of CU Free to display the
path
information for that RCU in the list. You can also double-click an RCU of each CU number to
display the SSID and path information for that RCU in the list (also shown in Figure 20 on page 61) .
The ID and path information includes:
