When y
ou
share a Continuous Access S-VOL with a Business Copy P-VO L as shown in
Figure 5 on page 37 or Figure 6 on page 37, the write operation to the Continuous Access P-VOL
takes time. Specically, when the Business Copy pair is in the PSUS(SP) status, the write operation to
the
Continuous Access P-VOL may takes extra time dep ending on the time for the copy process of
the
Business
Copy pair.
In addition, note that in the case of Continuous Access Asynchronous, the Continuous Access pair may
be suspended by a failure because of the s hortage of the capacity of its sidele.
Data Retention Utility
The Continuous Access software allows you to create a pair with volumes to which you set the access
attribute by using the Data Retention U tility software. However, you cannot create a Continuous Access
pair specifying avolumethat has theS-VOL Disableattribute as an S-VOL.
Table 13 on page 38 shows whether you can or cannot specify a volume with an access attribute as
a P-VOL or S-VOL of a Continuous Access pair.
