(pair
suspended-split)
(see
Table 6
on page
30 for
split types)
This pair is not synchronize d, because the user has
split this pair (pairsplit-r), or because the user has
released this pair from the RCU (pairsplit-S). For
Continuous Access Asynchronous pairs, the MCU and
RCU keep track of any recordsets that were discarded
during the pairsplit-r operation. Wh ile a pair is split,
the MCU and RCU record the data in P-VOL and
S-VOL tracks t hat are updated as the differential data.
When you split a pair from the MCU, the MCU
changes the status of the P-VOL and S-VOL to
PSUS.Whenyou split a pairfromthe RCU, the
RCU changes the status of the S-VOL to PSUS. The
MCU detects this (if path status is normal) and
changes the P-VOL status to PSUS.
When you release a pair from the RCU, the
RCU changes the S-VOL status to SMPL. The
MCU detects this (if the path status is normal)
and changes the P-VOL status to PSUS. You must
release the pair from the MCU in order to change
the P-VOL status to SMPL.

PSUE
(pair
suspended-
err or)
(see
Table 8
on page 31
for
suspend types)
This pair is not synchronized, because the MCU
or
RCU has suspended the pair due to an error
condition. For Async pairs the MCU and RCU keep
track of any recordsets that were discarded during
the suspension operation. The MCU records the data
in the P-VOL tracks that are updated while the pair is
suspended
as differential data.
For Continuous Access Synchronous pairs, if the
MCU cannot keep the pair synchronize d for any
reason, the MCU changes the status of the P-VOL
and
S-VOL (if possible) to PSUE.
For Continuous Access Asynchronous pairs, if the
MCU detects a Continuous Access Asynchronous
suspension condition (see Continuous Access
Asynchronous Suspension Conditions on page
31) , the MCU changes the P-VOL and S-VOL
status
(if possible) to PSUE.
For Continuous Access Asynchronous pairs, if the
RCU detects a Continuous Access Asynchronous
suspension condition (see Continuous Access
Asynchronous Suspension Conditions on page
31), the RCU changes the S-VOL status to PSUE,
and the MCU detects this (if the path status is
normal) and changes the P-VOL status to PSUE.

Pair Status for Continuous Access LUSE volumes only:
PDUB
This Continuous Access pair consists of LUSE volumes
(for example, OPEN3*n) , and an individual LDEV
within this Continuous Access LUSE pair has failed
duetoanerror condition. Thestatusofthe Continuous
Access LUSE volume is PAIR or COPY, and the status
of
one or more LDEV pairs is PSUE or SMPL.
