Error
Corrective Action
The Remote Web Console computer hangs,
or
Continuous Access operations do not
function properly.
Make sure that t
he problem is not being caused by the
computer or
Ethernet hardware or software, and restart the
computer. Restarting the Remote Web Console computer
does not affec
t
storage system op erations.
Make sure that
allContinuousAccessrequirementsand
restriction
sare met(forexample, sameLUtype). See
System Requ
irements”onpage43and Requirements and
Restrictions for Using Continuous Access on page 44.
Make sure that the MCU and RCU and remote copy
connections are powered on and fully operational (NVS,
cache).
Check all input values and parameters to make sure that
you entered the correct information on the Remote Web
Consolecomputer(forexample, RCU S/N and ID,path
parameters, P-VOL and S-VOL IDs) .
An initiator channel-enable LED indicator
(on
the storage system control panel) is off
or
ashing.
Please call HP technical support for assistance.
The pairs and/or RCUs are not displaying
correctly.
Make sure that the correct CU is selected.
A Continuous Access error message is
displayed on the computer.
Resolve
the
error, and then try the Continuous Access
operati
on
again.
The RCU path status is not normal.
Check the path status (RCU Status dialog box), and see
Table 27 on page 1 37.
The pair status is suspended.
Check the pair status (Detailed Information dialog box),
and
see Table 28 on page 140.
Pai
rcreate or pairresync operation resulted
in a
timeout
error.
Hardware failure: If the timeout error was caused by
a
hardware failure, a SIM will be generated. If this
occurs, call your HP service representative, and retry the
Continuous Access operations after the problem i s xed.
Heavy workload: If no SIM was generated, wait for a while
(5 or
6
minutes), then check the pair status of the pair(s)
bein
g
created or resynchronized. If the pair status changed
correctly, the failed operation completed after the timeout
message was issued. If the pair status did not change as
expected, a heavy workloadmight have preventedthe
Con
tinuousAccess operationfrombeing completed. In this
ca
se, retry the Continuous Access operation again when
th
e
storage system has a lighter workload.
If a
communications error between the Remote Web
Console computer and SVP occurs, see the HP
StorageWorks XP24000 Remote Web Console User’s
G
uide for instructions.
