SMI-S VA Description SMI-S VA Description SMI-S VA v1.02.02 allows CIM-capable management software to manage Virtual Arrays. SMI-S VA resides on the HP OpenView Storage Management host. SMI-S VA uses the Storage Management Initiative Specification (SMI-S) which is a new standard developed by the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA). As a component of Command View SDM, SMI-S VA resides on the management host in the SAN or LAN.

Supported Operating Systems Supported Operating Systems SMI-S VA v1.02.02 is supported on the following operating systems: ■ HP-UX versions 11.0, 11.11, 11.23 ■ Windows 2000 SP1 or above ■ Windows NT SP6a or above ■ Red Hat Linux 7.1 (kernel 2.4.2) ■ Red Hat Advanced Server 2.1 ■ Windows Server 2003 Command View SDM Minimum Revision Level SMI-S VA v1.02.02 requires that Command View SDM v1.07 be installed on a host computer. SMI-S VA v1.02.02 is installed as a part of the Command View SDM v1.
Known Issues Known Issues Array information is collected by the CIMOM server and stored on a periodic basis. If the array configuration changes, the array information may not be updated immediately. The updated array information is not updated until the CIMOM server updates its persistence data.
