4.1.0 HP PolyServe Matrix Server administration guide (T5392-96073, October 2010)
To enable servers from the command line, use this command:
mx server enable <server> ...
Change the IP address for a server
A server’s IP address can be changed without affecting the other servers in the cluster.
The following procedure uses this scenario: three servers, S1, S2, and S3, with a
single NIC. You want to change the IP address of server S2.
1. Stop Matrix Server on server S2.
2. Change the IP address of server S2. We will now identify the server as S2a.
Ensure that the DNS mapping is correct.
3. Using the PolyServe Configuration utility on S1 or S3, add server S2a to the
matrix.
4. The server joins the cluster, which now consists of servers S1, S2, S3, and S2a.
5. Delete server S2 from the cluster. This step will remove references to the server.
6. Apply the changes and start Matrix Server on server S2A.
7. Update virtual hosts and any other matrix entities that used server S2 to now
include S2a.
Move a server to another FibreChannel port
If you move a server from one FibreChannel switch port to another, you will need to
enable the server’s new port on the switch before starting Matrix Server on the server.
Move a server to another matrix
Before moving a server from one matrix to another, you will need to remove the
previous matrix configuration from the server. To do this, delete the contents of the
%SystemDrive%\Program Files\Polyserve\MatrixServer\conf directory.
You can then either import the new matrix configuration to the server, as described
in the previous procedure, or you can export the configuration from an existing server
in the matrix.
To export the configuration, complete these steps:
1. On an existing server in the new matrix, select Tools > Configuration Utility on
the PolyServe Management Console to display the Configure Matrix window.
