From Email address. Enter the email address that will be specified as the sender of
the notification emails. If this option is not included, the server name will be used as
the sender.
To Email address. Enter the email addresses to which event notifier email should be
sent. If multiple addresses will be specified, use semicolons to separate the addresses.
Subject line. Select the amount of information that will appear in the Subject line of
the email. The options are short, medium (the default), and long:
• Short. Includes only the event severity indicator, for example:
Subject:[ERROR]
• Medium. Includes the event severity indicator and the event message, which is
truncated at 78 characters. For example:

• Long. Includes the event severity indicator and the entire event message. For ex-
ample:
Subject:[ERROR]Process mxlogd did not signal startup completion
within the configured 5000 millisecond interval. Proceeding to next
process anyway.
Omit cluster description. By default, the cluster description assigned to the matrix
appears in the source address for the email. For example, if the cluster description
is Cluster X and the --from <email address> is clust2@company.com, the
source address for the email will be Cluster X [clust2@company.com]. When the
Omit cluster description option is checked, the cluster description does not appear
in the source address. In our example, the source address will be
clust2@company.com.
SMTP Configuration. Enter the name or IP address of the SMTP server. Also specify
the port to be used.
Credentials. If the SMTP server requires credentials, enter the appropriate user name
and password.
Disable the Email notifier service. This checkbox can be used to enable or disable
the service as necessary.
After configuring the service, you can test it by clicking Send Test Message.
To configure the service from the command line, use this command:
mx eventnotifier configureemail --to <email_addresses> --smtpserver
<name or IP address> [--from <email_address>]
