4.1.0 HP PolyServe Matrix Server administration guide (T5392-96073, October 2010)
NOTE:
The Create a Filesystem window identifies volumes by their Matrix Server names
such as psd1p2. To match these names to their local Windows names, open the
Disk Info window (select the server on the Servers tab, right-click, and then select
View Local Disk Info).
IMPORTANT:
If you selected a subdevice that is associated with an unimported volume, when you
click OK to create the filesystem you will see a message reporting that the subdevice
contains a volume signature. The message asks whether you want to destroy the
affected unimported dynamic volume and reuse this subdevice in the new filesystem
you are creating. Be sure that you do not need the unimported dynamic volume
before doing this. If the unimported volume associated with the subdevice is in a
“duplicate” state, the attempt to destroy the volume will fail. See “Unimportable
volumes” on page 98 for more information.
Filesystem options
The filesystem options that can be configured from on the Filesystem Options window
include setting the block size and enabling and configuring quotas. Click Options
to see the Filesystem Options window.
The General tab allows you to set the block size (4KB or 8KB). If you are using HP
PolyServe Software for Microsoft SQL Server, the block size must be 8 KB. Check
Reuse to allow creation of volumes on devices that contain volume signatures.
